Groups

The weekly meeting of the Parent Support Group provides practical and emotional peer support. Everyone supports everyone else as much as they are able, even in a crisis. Other people can support you at less emotional cost than you can support yourself and they can often see through the often emotional and subjective relationship between parent and child.

Meetings incorporate TOUGHLOVE Program tools and processes, which focus on generating and maintaining positive change within the family, together with the development of self-responsibility for all family members.

The Program provides the tools for assessing a family's crisis and a structure for developing potential solutions. Experiences are shared, helpful information is offered and alternative strategies are suggested to replace actions that are no longer effective. Non-judgmental support helps parents to put those changes into place.

It works when we work the Program.
